AI and the assistant.

It's optional
The assistant only processes your content after you allow AI processing. Accepting the terms alone does not turn it on. You can turn it off any time: Profile → Assistant → Turn off AI processing.
What is sent and to whom
When you use the assistant, your message, recent conversation, relevant planner records and any image, PDF or text attachments you choose are sent through Vercel AI Gateway to Baseten (DeepSeek models) or OpenAI to answer you. Processing may take place in the United States.
Requests require zero data retention and forbid using your content to train models. Only these providers are allowed; if none is available, the request fails rather than going elsewhere.
Credits and records
Assistant requests use AI credits. Focer keeps your chats, private request checkpoints and receipts of actions and costs so it can recover from errors and show your usage. Operational metrics record the model, timing and cost — not your messages.
Check the results
AI can be wrong. Review anything the assistant suggests or changes before relying on it. Unusually expensive requests ask for your confirmation first.
The assistant doesn't give medical, legal, financial or other professional advice, and it never makes decisions about you with legal or similarly significant effects.
Dictation
Voice dictation uses on-device speech recognition with your microphone and speech permission. There is no live voice conversation.
